Rendered with meticulous precision in a pointillist style, his images have an underlying geometric structure that contributes to what he hoped would be “a kind of ordering, fulfilling, illuminating sensation.”5/5(4). Other articles where Horse and Train is discussed: Alex Colville: one of his best-known paintings, Horse and Train (), in which a dark horse, its face turned away from the viewer, gallops down railroad tracks toward an oncoming train.
